What mcptoon is
Its own compact format does token optimization, tool discovery and context compression at once: it cuts the tool context by ~90% (99.2% on a 255-tool sample; run mcptoon status for your own number) and writes no line of config for any desktop or command-line agent.

mcptoon turns verbose MCP tool discovery from 10,000 tokens down to 350. This pure Python CLI replaces JSON with TOON format, cutting tool listings by 97% and structured results by more than half. It connects to any MCP server via stdio or HTTP, supports stdin, doctor commands, fuzzy matching, and slim mode. Works with Claude Code, Cursor, CatPaw, and other AI agents across every platform.
