Humanoid research hardware usually hides behind closed designs. OpenArm is a fully open-source 7DOF humanoid arm for physical AI research: backdrivable joints stay compliant around humans, while CAN control libraries, ROS2 packages, and URDF simulation files ship ready. It is in continuous development, and a complete bimanual system costs $6,500. Reproduce the same research worldwide under identical evaluation conditions.
